Born and raised in New Orleans, Brock recently worked as a schoolteacher for kindergarten through eighth grade at Bethune Elementary School in Orleans Parish.

Local sports fans will recognize Ryan from his days at Loyola University of New Orleans basketball, where he played and later served as coach. He graduated from Loyola in business management, and in 2018, he was inducted into the university's Hall of Fame.

When not designing activities for the Lafitte community, Ryan engages with his hobbies, including traveling, bike riding and playing a variety of sports. He has also conducted a number of free sports camps for young adults with a focus on mental health.

Fun Fact: Ryan played professional basketball in Doha, Qatar, before returning to the states to coach college basketball at Loyola for four years.
