COLUMBIA, Md. – Enterprise Community Partners (Enterprise) today announced that human resources veteran Shawn Talley has joined the organization as Chief Human Resources Officer. Based in Columbia, Md., Talley will lead all aspects of human resources at Enterprise, including talent acquisition, career development, and DEI. As a member of the organization’s Operating Committee, he will partner with leaders from across the organization to ensure Enterprise and its employees are equipped to further Enterprise’s mission to address affordable housing challenges nationwide.
“Enterprise could not tackle the complex affordable housing challenges we face without the expertise and dedication of our nationwide team,” said Lori Chatman, interim co-CEO of Enterprise and president of the Capital division. “Shawn’s decades of experience as a leader in human resources and a champion of inclusive workplaces make him an ideal partner as we move our critical work forward.”
Talley joins Enterprise with more than 25 years of experience in providing award-winning strategic expertise in human resources, organizational development, management consulting, and diversity. Most recently, he was chief people and diversity officer at the National Committee for Quality Assurance, where he led the effort to win the 2022 Chesapeake Human Resources Association James W. Rouse Excellence in Diversity Award, named for Enterprise’s founder.
Over the course of his career, Talley has led HR teams at Baxter Healthcare, Citigroup, The Home Depot, and Verizon, and was one of the first instructors to provide diversity training to the US Department of Commerce.
“I’ve spent my career working to build and strengthen inclusive organizations that engage employees and inspire them to perform to their potential,” said Talley. “I’m honored to join the Enterprise team and look forward to investing in and supporting our staff as we work toward our shared mission.”
Talley serves on several nonprofit boards, including Baltimore Health Care for the Homeless and Prestige Healthcare Resources, and is an advisor at the Tahirih Justice Center. He holds a dual bachelor’s degree in mass communications and political science and a master’s in human resource development from Towson University, where he continues to teach as an adjunct professor.
