Enterprise Community Partners is launching a Faith-Based Development Initiative (FBDI) Cohort in Cuyahoga County. This program offers no-cost training, grant opportunities and peer learning to houses of worship (HOWs) to provide them with an overview of the development process for affordable housing and community facilities. Sessions are open to HOWs in Cuyahoga County aiming to develop their owned land and/or publicly owned land for these purposes. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of development stages from visioning to operations, facilitated by experts with proven success in affordable housing. Training includes both in-person and virtual sessions.
Enterprise invites HOWs in Cuyahoga County involved in or considering affordable housing or mixed-use projects to apply for specialized training, technical assistance, and potential financial support. Supported by Key Bank, cohort members will receive 6 months of training in the development process and, upon successful completion, will be eligible to apply for pre-development funding through a competitive process.
- Training will be provided on topics covered by the Enterprise FBDI curriculum. Modules include: an introduction to real estate, development decision and community engagement, project design and construction, structuring the deal and project operations.
- Competitive grants for a market study, feasibility analysis, or other eligible pre-development expenses will be targeted towards HOWs ready to develop affordable housing (with a preference for HOW’s with site control) and requiring a time and resource commitment by senior clergy and lay leaders at the bi-monthly training sessions.
Register to join the FBDI Cuyahoga Cohort by July 18, 2025.
