In a virtual hearing called “Building Back Better: Investing in Equitable and Affordable Housing Infrastructure,” leaders from Enterprise Community Partners, the National Low-Income Housing Coalition and PolicyLink spoke to the importance of housing as a catalyst for equity and opportunity.

Enterprise is focused on dismantling the enduring legacy of systemic racism in housing – a legacy that has prevented generations of Atlanta’s Black and Brown families from accessing safe, affordable homes and the same kinds of opportunities to achieve upward mobility as white Atlantans in affluent neighborhoods.

Keep Safe Miami is a new program to help affordable housing owners and operators protect their buildings and residents from climate change and natural disasters.  

Our Policy team had big wins at Georgia’s legislative session with our fight against criminalizing encampments of persons experiencing homelessness, childhood lead exposure, and more.

This in-person session of the Southeast Preservation Academy will allow attendees to learn and network with the Southeast’s affordable housing preservation community including funders, policymakers, practitioners, and national experts.

We are pleased to welcome Matt Thompson as our new data analytics fellow.

This Southeast Preservation Academy session will provide an overview of factors that may impact rehabilitation and long-term success of a preservation project, including the unique rehabilitation needs of SMMF buildings, local building and zoning regulations, and effective engagement of existing residents.

The Southeast Preservation Academy will dive more deeply into potential preservation models, providing an overview of traditional rental models, joint ventures, shared equity, and community ownership models.
