Jonathan Kott is a partner at Capitol Counsel, LLC. He brings nearly 20 years of communications, policy, and political experience to the firm. Kott served as communications director and senior advisor to Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) for seven years. Helping the Senator navigate the Manchin-Toomey bill in response to the tragedy at Sandy Hook, attempts to repeal the ACA, the bipartisan immigration reform, and re-election in a state Donald Trump won by more than any other state in the country. Kott also served simultaneously as communications director for Senators Manchin and Chris Coons (D-DE) in 2016, returning as a senior advisor to Senator Coons in 2020. There he helped the Senator in his role as a lead surrogate for the Biden campaign, and through multiple Covid relief packages and the second impeachment. Along with his time on the Hill, Kott has represented Fortune 50 companies at Burson-Marsteller and helped craft moderate messaging and policy at Third Way. Jonathan began his career as an intern for Senator Schumer and Governor Cuomo in New York City.
