Robert Hollister

Senior Vice President, Real Estate, Capital Strategy and Development, Johns Hopkins University

Rob brings to his role more than 25 years of experience in real estate development and strategy around the globe. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins University, he most recently served as the president of real estate of the Sobrato Organization, a commercial real estate firm that played a dynamic role in the emergence of Silicon Valley. Over the past nine years as president, Rob oversaw all aspects of real estate, including investment, development, leasing, construction, asset management, property management, and financing. He and his team also developed an affordable housing program in California with nonprofit real estate developers to address the significant shortfall of homes for people making less than 120 percent of Silicon Valley’s median income. Affordable housing is a particular passion for Rob, who serves on the board of two nonprofit developers in the Bay Area. Before leading the Sobrato Organization, Rob served as senior managing director and country head for China and Australia at Hines Interests Limited Partnership, responsible for the development, acquisition, and disposition of more than 14 million square feet of commercial, retail, and residential real estate. Rob has dynamic expertise in asset and property management, design and construction management, and investment strategy.
