J. Ronald Terwilliger has committed more than 50 years to housing America’s families and ensuring there are ample resources to do so.
Ron’s career in housing has been a lifelong pursuit as he developed countless affordable housing units across the country. Until 2008, he was the chief executive officer of the Trammell Crow Residential, the largest developer of multi-family housing nationwide.
Since 2013, Ron has served as the non-executive chairman of Terwilliger Pappas Multifamily Partners and focused on the development of rental apartments in the southeastern U.S. Ron provided tremendous guidance and leadership as chairman of the board for Enterprise Community Partners until 2022.
Prior to joining the affordable housing field, Ron worked in real estate with the Sea Pines Company in South Carolina, then became the chief finance officer at the Beck Group, a Dallas-based general contracting firm.
Over the next 40 years in the affordable housing and community development sectors, Ron envisions our country realizing that housing is a human right and will assist those in need accordingly as the sector becomes more challenging.
Currently serving as the chairman emeritus of the Wharton Real Estate Center and Trammell Crow Residential Company, Ron has also served on the board of the Urban Land Institute and the international board of directors of Habitat for Humanity. He is the trustee for Urban Land Institute and is the board member of the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation and the “I Have a Dream” Foundation, the Bipartisan Policy Center and the J. Ronald Terwilliger Center for Housing Policy.
Ron received a master’s in business administration from Harvard University after serving five years in the U.S. Navy.
