In 2013, Enterprise Community Partners, The JPB Foundation, the National Center for Healthy Housing, and several university partners embarked on a multiyear, multisite study of green building practices. This longitudinal housing-based research sought to measure the effect of green building practices on the respiratory health of residents living in affordable housing. This report highlights lessons learned during the design and initial implementation phases of the study, explores the challenges encountered, and identifies key strategies used to overcome those challenges.
