In January 2019, Enterprise launched Health Begins with Home to center healthy housing as an essential tool for improving resident and community health.
Working with a broad group of partners and guided by data, Health Begins with Home will put $250 million to work over five years with a focus in four key areas:
- Capacity building and technical assistance to housing and healthcare partners interested in forming collaborative partnerships
- Developing health standards, processes, and best practices for affordable housing developers
- Connecting capital from healthcare organizations to develop and preserve healthy, affordable homes
- Research and development of measurement tools to support the understanding of how housing and housing-based programs are impacting health
