(Columbia, Md., October 7, 2024) – Enterprise Community Partners (Enterprise), one of the nation’s largest affordable housing organizations, today announced that former Volkswagen Bank Mexico CEO and Managing Director David Rands will serve as its next chief financial officer, effective October 7, 2024. Rands brings extensive financial leadership experience and a commitment to operational excellence that will support Enterprise’s vision for a future in which everyone has an affordable place to call home. He will be based at the organization’s Columbia, Maryland headquarters.

Rands joins Enterprise with over two decades of experience in the financial sector, most recently serving as CEO and Managing Director of Volkswagen Bank Mexico. Across various roles at VW, he managed multibillion dollar asset management portfolios and oversaw profitable, transformational, and digitally forward strategies.

“David’s strategic vision and track record of financial performance make him an invaluable addition to our leadership team,” said Shaun Donovan, president and CEO of Enterprise. “As we continue to expand our reach and achieve new milestones, his expertise will be pivotal in advancing our financial strategies and the communities we serve.”

Throughout his career, David has demonstrated a passion for building customer-centric, agile and inclusive teams. As CFO and executive vice president of Volkswagen Credit, he played a key role in transforming the organization’s financial operations, leading to significant increases in profit and cost savings through process optimization and automation.

“I am excited to join Enterprise and contribute to its critical work expanding the availability of affordable housing,” said David Rands. “The growing income gap is hurting communities and individuals in every aspect of their lives – from access to transportation to safe and secure housing. Enterprise’s meaningful impact on communities across the country is a model for how to create opportunity for everyone, and I feel honored to be joining one of the industry’s most talented teams making transformational change.”

He follows Bill Beckmann, who provided instrumental leadership to Enterprise’s finance teams as CFO for more than two years – previously he spent over a decade on the Boards of Enterprise Community Partners, Enterprise Housing Credit Investments, and Enterprise Community Loan Fund.

Rands holds an MBA from the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business and a bachelor of science in political science from the University of Utah. He has also received certificates from advanced leadership programs at Volkswagen AG and served on various boards within the Volkswagen Group, including the boards of Volkswagen Bank Mexico and VW Credit, Inc. He previously served as a finance director at Citibank.
