People spend nearly 90 percent of their time inside, making indoor air quality central to health and well-being. Low-income populations are disproportionally affected by a range of illnesses and adverse health effects that can be exacerbated by poor indoor air quality, and improvements to the indoor environment can be an important mechanism to address health disparities.

Power Forward Communities Awarded $2 Billion as Part of the National Clean Investment Fund to Decarbonize American Homes

Today, Power Forward Communities, a coalition of some of the country’s most trusted housing, climate, and community investment groups, was awarded a $2 billion, seven-year National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF) grant from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to provide capital for affordable residential decarbonization throughout the country, with a specific focus on low-income and disadvantaged communities.
